On my Fenix 3, I have never seen elevation changes of that magnitude caused by temperature changes or from going from indoor to outdoor. An elevation change of 246 feet is equal to an ambient pressure change of approx. 8-9 millibar.
fēnix 5 Plus series I am having problems with my altimeter, its always on and it displays an inaccurate, i always re calibrate using the GPS.After a while it gives me a wrong reading again .I sometime get negative altitude levels..
We’ve added an altimeter calibration for watch mode as well (Settings > Sensors > Altimeter > Auto Cal. > Not During Activity). Assuming a user has enabled the use of location data on GCM, we will use the phone position along with the DEM provided in our preloaded cartography data to attempt a calibration each night during a user’s sleep
Inaccurate altimeter, should I factory reset? GaryMort over 3 years ago. My wife and I both have Fenix 6 Pro watches (latest 8.10 SW) and until recently both recorded a very similar elevation gain for the runs we do together, which I should expect. However, for the past week my elevation has be approximately 100ft more than my wife's which is a
Just wanted to add my elevation issues with 15.20 with Fenix 5 Plus: Elevations during activities seem to be OK but when not in an activity I am getting random wild spikes and dips in elevations. Never had this problem before 15.20. The average elevation where I am is 350 feet or so. No mountains or deep sea dives!
RE: Fenix 5 - Altimeter/Barometer Major Issues There was a post on another forum that claims that previous way-points are used as part of the activity start elevation fix if available. For the Fenix 3, this was proved not to be the case.
So far I’ve gone through 1x Fenix 7S solar and 2x Fenix 7 solars in the last 3months, all with similar issues. Total Ascent seems to over-read by anything between 15 and 20%. This when compared to Edge 520 and Forerunner 735XT units which both show almost identical TA readings on the same route on the same day.
I purchased a Fenix 5 Sapphire Edition just after Thanksgiving. I have come across some of the nuances of the device like the alarm override. However, my biggest concern is the altimeter. Following the version 7.0 update, my altimeter is way off. For example, my iPhone 7+ says 2800' elevation while my Fenix 5 is around 14,238'.
My Fenix 5 plus also misses to count several stairs climbed per day. :(And that, although the altitude difference exceets 3m. I noticed, that my watch is ALWAYS refusing to count one particular stair. The stair has a total of 20 steps and changes direction by 180° in the middle.
After update to 5.1. and installing Spotify I found out Altimeter Barometer and Thermometer does not work. It shows only ---. I am able to calibrate altimeter with gps but I can do nothing about Barometer and Thermometer. Reply. A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide answers, and share feedback.
